Installing Smart YouTube TV on a Jailbroken Fire TV or Fire Stick

Ever since Google blocked Google Play Services on Fire TVs, Fire Sticks and other Fire TV devices, the native YouTube app has been removed from the Amazon App Store.  There is still a YouTube “app”, but it only brings up a special web version of YouTube that is optimized for Amazon’s Silk Browser or Firefox for Fire TV.  While this works ok, it isn’t an ideal experience and is lacking some of the features of the full YouTube application.

Thanks to the developers of Smart YouTube TV, you can now have the same experience you are used to in the full YouTube application.  Smart YouTube TV is a standalone YouTube application with the following features:

  • 4K support
  • Runs without Google Services
  • Designed for TV screens
  • Stock controller support
  • Multi-lingual search keyboard
  • Fully localized

Your IP is: 54.82.79.137

Secure Your Connection

Stop your ISP and your government from spying on your activity.  Use a VPN to protect your privacy.  A VPN is an essential tool when you are using any free or low-cost streaming application or service.  Especially if you are using a jailbroken Fire TV or Fire Stick or Android box.

ALWAYS use a VPN if you want the best streaming experience, the best selection of media and don't want your ISP to slow you down or shut you down.  I recommend IPVanish VPN for all my clients and I use it on all my devices.

Installation of Smart YouTube TV on your jailbroken Fire TV device is simple using the KodiAmerica.com Jailbreak App Vault.  If you don’t already have the Jailbreak App Vault installed, just head on over and follow the tutorial How to Install the Kodiamerica.com Jailbreak App Vault.

Once you have installed and configured the KodiAmerica.com Jailbreak App Vault, installation of Smart YouTube TV is just a few clicks away.

Installation of Smart YouTube TV

Once you have installed the KodiAmerica Jailbreak App Vault, open it up.  If you already have not entered my code, the code to enter is:  47356537

Once you have entered the code and clicked CONTINUE, you will be taken to the KodiAmerica Jailbreak App Vault.  You will see Smart YouTube TV on the list.  Scroll down until you have highlighted the little download icon beside Smart YouTube TV and click it.

Smart YouTube TV will start downloading

When the download has finished, the download icon changes to like a PLAY button.  Click it.

You will be asked if you want to install Smart YouTube TV.  Click INSTALL

Smart YouTube TV will begin installing

Once Smart YouTube TV is finished installing, you will be asked if you want to open it.  Click OPEN

The first thing you will see is a screen that asks you which type of launcher you would like to use.  If you don’t have a 4K TV, then choose one of the 1080 launchers.

You will be asked to log in and authorize your device with your YouTube account.  I won’t show this, but just follow the instructions on the screen to get logged in.

You will then be taken to the home screen of Smart YouTube TV.

Conclusion

I found that the Smart YouTube TV application is much smoother to operate and the streams are far faster and higher quality than the pseudo-application provided by Amazon.  Using the Smart YouTube TV application is much more like the stock YouTube application that used to be included with the Fire TV family of devices.

Be sure to secure your connection with a high-quality VPN.  While this is only YouTube, you still don’t want anyone tracking what you are watching or compromising your security by any other means.  I recommend IPVanish VPN service.  And if you act now, you can take advantage of a great 57% discount off IPVanish VPN service.  This offer won’t last, so sign up today.
