How to Jailbreak the Amazon Firestick – Updated 2018 Method

Jailbreaking your Amazon Fire TV device has gotten easier over time as more and more methods are created to do so.  The main method of jailbreaking your Fire Stick is by using the Downloader App for Amazon Fire TV.  This app is a great little app and has been instrumental in helping millions of people jailbreak their Amazon Fire TV devices.

IMPORTANT:  Always secure your connection with a VPN.  This is especially true when using streaming media apps such as Kodi, Terrarium TV, Mobdro, Morpheus TV, Popcorn Time, or any other application.  I use and recommend IPVanish VPN service for all of my devices and those of my clients.  IPVanish is a top-rated VPN with thousands of servers all over the world.

While the Downloader App is great to get started, it can be cumbersome to use to install apps.  I decided to make things easier for you and sat down and created my own little “app store” for my readers.  I’m calling it the “ App Vault” It isn’t a complicated solution, but it will make your life a lot easier when it comes to jailbreaking your Amazon Fire TV device.

First, you will need to install the Filelinked app.  You can do this by clicking on this link  That is a direct download link and will download it onto your device.

If you are using the Downloader App for Amazon Fire TV, you can enter that same address and Filelinked will download.  If you want to learn how to install the Downloader App, then follow my tutorial How to Install the Downloader app on Fire TV Devices

Once you have it installed, you just have to open the app.  The only thing you need to do here is to input my unique code.

Once you have entered the code in the space provided and clicked Continue, you will see all the files that are available for download.  I will try my best to keep it current, so check back often for new versions of files.

DISCLAIMER: I take no responsibility for these files.  I am not the developer.  However, I do install each of them and test them thoroughly.  The files I make available for download are the actual apps I use in my lab and at my home.

Scroll down until you see Kodi v17.6 Krypton.  This is the latest working version of Kodi.  Once you see that the little download icon is highlighted for Kodi v17.6 Krypton, click it to start the download.

You will see a little message at the bottom left saying that the download has started.

Kodi v17.6 Krypton will download

Once the download has finished, you will see that the icon to the right has changed from a download icon to a little play arrow.  Click this to begin the installation.

You will be asked if you want to install Kodi or cancel.  It will also list all the permissions that Kodi needs to run.  Kodi is a very complex application and requires a lot of access to your device in order to function properly.  Click Install to continue.

Kodi will begin installing

Once Kodi v17.6 Krypton has been installed, you will see the following screen. Choose Done for now so we can go back and delete the downloaded file to save space.

Once back on the App Vault main screen, hit the back button.  You will be asked if you are sure you want to exit.  Click on YES

Move the cursor up to the little trash can in the upper right-hand side of the screen and click on it.

You will be asked if you really want to delete all of the downloaded files.  You will always want to do this whenever you install any application from the App Vault.  Just a matter of housekeeping.  Click YES to continue.

You are all done.  You can simply exit the App Vault.  When you return the next time, the code will already be entered.  But if for some reason, it isn’t, you can simply click on the little “history” icon at the top right as shown below.

You will see Kodi America in the list and you can simply click on the little “play” icon on the right side as you can see below to be taken directly to the App Vault.

If you notice, you can install many other applications here.  Some of them are utilities that I think are handy.  Others are some of my favorite streaming apps that I think others will like.  Anyway, I hope you enjoy trying out all of the apps that I have there.  But please don’t forget to install and use a VPN if you are using any of these apps.  If you connect to the Internet AT ALL, you should be using a VPN.  IPVanish provides an awesome VPN service at a great price.  And if that wasn’t enough, you can get a 57% discount on IPVanish right now.  Act quickly to snatch up this deal.
