In this tutorial, I want to show you how to install Xanax build on Kodi. This tutorial will work on Kodi versions 17.6 and up and is applicable to all Amazon Fire TV products including the Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV cube. This will also work on any Android TV or TV box, Android mobile devices, and tablets as well as computers.
The Durex Build was one of the best builds out there and ranks right up there with my favorite No Limits Magic Build. But the Durex build has been discontinued. That’s where Xanax Build comes in. Featuring an almost identical interface and look, Xanax is a direct replacement for the Durex Build.
Xanax Build comes complete with all the best Kodi Add-ons such as Exodus Redux, Maverick TV, and much more. You will be sure to have access to most any sort of streaming media you might be in the mood for. It’s not too large to use on your Amazon Fire TV devices and is one of my preferred builds for the Fire Stick.
How to Install Xanax Build with Kodi 18.2
Unfortunately, Kodi 18.2 has issues installing many of the most popular builds. This includes my favorite No Limits Magic Build and Xanax Build as well. This obstacle can be overcome very easily but requires that you uninstall your current Kodi 18.2 installation and begin with a fresh install of Kodi 18.1. If you don’t have a fresh install of Kodi 18.1, you can learn how to install it here from the KodiAmerica.com Jailbreak App Vault.
WARNING: While Kodi Builds allow you to watch unlimited streaming content, it can also lead to legal trouble. Users of Kodi MUST use a VPN to obscure their identity while using watching free content. Also, many of the popular Kodi Add-ons are geographically restricted and a VPN is necessary to overcome this issue. Luckily, IPVanish is offering up a huge 57% discount on its world-class VPN service.
Enabling Installation of Apps from Unknown Sources
If this is the first time you have installed Kodi or the first time you have sideloaded any other app, you will need to change a setting to allow the installation of unknown sources. Here’s how to do that.
From the Kodi home screen, click the little gear icon in the top-left to open the Kodi Settings
Click on System settings
Scroll down on the left until you have highlighted Add-ons. Then go over to the right and turn ON the option Unknown Sources
Confirm that you want to turn this on by clicking Yes when prompted.
Now Kodi is able to install community builds and other unofficial software. Be sure that you are only installing the software you trust. Xanax Build is safe to install, but be sure when installing other apps. It’s a good idea to turn this setting off when you are not using it to prevent the unintentional installation of bad apps.
How to Install Xanax Build
Now let’s get down to installing the actual build on Kodi. This is very easy but follow the instructions carefully to avoid problems.
Click the Settings gear on the Kodi home screen
Click File manager
Click Add source
Click where it says <None> and you will see a window where you can type a URL
Type in the URL for the repo you will be using to install Xanax Build. Type this exactly as shown here: http://teamdork.xyz/repo/ Then click OK
You can choose to give this repo a name by clicking below where it says repo and changing it. For this tutorial, I’m going to leave it at repo. Be sure your window looks like the illustration below and click OK
Now, go back to the Kodi home screen and scroll down on the left side and click on Add-ons
At the top left of the screen, you will see a little box symbol. This is the add-on installer. Click on it.
Scroll down and click on Install from zip file
In the box that pops up, you will want to choose where you want to install the zip file from. Click on the repo that you added in the previous steps. In this case, it’s called repo.
You will see there is only one zip file at this source. It’s called something like repository.xanrepo-x.x.zip. Click on it.
In a minute or so, you will see a message at the top right that the Xanax Repository has been installed.
On the same screen, click on Install from repository.
In the list that comes up, you will see the Xanax Repository. Click on it.
Click on Program add-ons
Click on Xanax Wizard
On the Xanax Wizard Add-on screen, you will see that Install is already highlighted. Click on Install.
After a bit, you will see a notification at the top right of the screen saying Xanax Wizard Add-on installed
The Xanax Wizard will automatically start. Click on Continue.
On the next screen that pops up, choose Build Menu
You will see that there are several different servers to choose from. Each of these servers installs the identical version, but some may be more congested than others at times. If a server is slow or not responding to you, then choose another one. Be sure to choose the correct Kodi version of the installation you are using. In this case, we are using Kodi 18.1, so I will choose server 5 just because I think everyone always chooses 1, so it is probably more congested. You can pick whichever one you want.
Click Fresh Install on the next screen.
Note: There is also a Standard Install option, but I don’t recommend doing this. It’s always better to do a Fresh Install when installing a new build.
Click Continue to confirm that you want to do a Fresh Install.
Xanax Build will download and install
When Xanax Build is finished installing, click on Force Close to close Kodi. Don’t use the Reload Profile option as this does not fully close Kodi and this can cause issues.
That’s it! Now when you start Kodi, you will see that the default splash screen has been changed to the Xanax Build splash screen.
Xanax Build Overview
Xanax Kodi build will get activated when you open Kodi for the first time after installing it. The first run of the build takes a while as it sets up, configures and updates add-ons and settings. Therefore, on the first run, allow the build a few minutes to get prepared for use.
Once Xanax Build has completely initialized, you will see Xanax Build home screen.
At this point, if you want to update Kodi to version 18.2, you can just jump into the KodiAmerica.com Jailbreak App Store and install version 18.2 over the version 18.1 you installed in this tutorial. The problems with 18.2 are only in the installation routines, so once you have your build installed, you can simply upgrade Kodi and everything will work fine.
If you are already familiar with the Durex Build, you will already be familiar with Xanax Build. The home screen layout is fairly normal with the main menu bar featuring items such as Movies, TV Shows, Family, Sports TV, Paid TV, Free TV, Sports, Musics and more.
Just like with the Durex Build, the menu items each contain sub-menu items that will appear below the main menu bar when the menu item is selected. The items shown below the main menu bar are only the recommended add-ons. More add-ons can be selected by going to Add-ons –> Video Add-ons as shown below.
Some of the great add-ons that you will find pre-installed in Xanax Build are as follows:
- Supremacy Sports
- Maverick TV
- Exodus Redux
- The Magic Dragon
- Monster Munch
With all those add-ons and more, you will not have any problem finding the streaming media you crave.
Xanax Build works great on all the devices I tested it on. Even on lower powered devices such as the Amazon Fire TV Stick, the performance was good. The interface is slick and intuitive and most users will have no problem finding their way around. Even if you have never used Kodi before, the default layout of Xanax Build is simple enough for even the most novice user.
Not only is the interface very modern, but the selection of add-ons that are included is also comprehensive. With all the most popular add-ons built right in, you won’t have to install any additional add-ons to get what you want. If you really enjoyed the Durex Build, you will love the all-new Xanax Build.
