Kodi is hot. The development team that brings us the software we know as Kodi are continuously working to improve our experience with streaming media. Things have really come a long way, and Kodi Version 17.6 “Krypton” was announced to be the last point release of Version 17. That was outstanding news to those hardcore Kodi enthusiasts out there. That could only mean one thing. Version 18 was on the way. They were right. The recent release of Kodi 18 “Leia” Beta for all operating systems means that you don’t have to wait to experience some of the improvements of Kodi 18 “Leia”. But a word of caution. This is a BETA VERSION. That means that, although most of the major features and functions are complete, many bugs and glitches still remain to be worked out. Many times a developer will even release a BETA 2 or 3 before the final version is ready for public consumption. So, keep in mind that, if something doesn’t work for you, or if one of your Kodi Add-Ons is not compatible with the Kodi 18 “Leia” Beta, it’s something you will have to live with. Hopefully, only until the final realease of Kodi 18 “Leia”, but perhaps longer if the developer of your favorite Kodi Add-On isn’t fast to update his or her software to be compatible. Also, if you use older Kodi Add-Ons that are not maintained any more, you may want to consider switching to an Add-On that is actively maintained. Kodi 18 “Leia” is, for the most part, backward compatible with Kodi 17.6 “Krypton”, so most people won’t have a problem with the update.
