How to Install Streamline Build on Kodi

This tutorial will show you how to install Streamline build on Kodi 18.2 Leia. These instructions work on Amazon Fire Stick, Amazon Fire TV, Android TVs, Android Boxes, Android Mobile Devices, Mac & Windows, and any other place where you can install Kodi.

The Streamline Build is one of the best new builds out there.  There are versions available for Kodi 17.x all the way up to 18.2 Leia.  This build, unlike many of the other builds out there, installs and runs fine on version 18.2 of Kodi.  Some of the other builds have compatibility issues that are still being worked out.

Streamline Build is installed using the Whiz Kid Wizard which makes it simple to install and update this build.  Streamline is compact enough to run on even the most memory-starved devices such as the Amazon Fire Stick.  But this also means that it runs even better on devices that have lots of memory.

Streamline is also packed with tons of the most popular add-ons for Kodi.  Exodus Redux, The Magic Dragon, SportsDevil, Rising Tides, Yoda, Maverick TV are all pre-installed as well as lots of other add-ons for sports, live TV and movies.

How to Install Streamline Build on Kodi 18.2

Unfortunately, Kodi 18.2 has issues installing many of the most popular builds.  This includes my favorite No Limits Magic Build and Xanax Build as well.  This is not an issue with Streamline Build, and it works on 18.2 without any issues.

If you don’t already have Kodi 18.2 installed, learn how to install the Jailbreak App Vault to get up and running quickly.

WARNING:  While Kodi Builds allow you to watch unlimited streaming content, it can also lead to legal trouble. Users of Kodi MUST use a VPN to obscure their identity while using watching free content.  Also, many of the popular Kodi Add-ons are geographically restricted and a VPN is necessary to overcome this issue.  Luckily, IPVanish is offering up a huge 57% discount on its world-class VPN service.

Enabling Installation of Apps from Unknown Sources

If this is the first time you have installed Kodi or the first time you have sideloaded any other app, you will need to change a setting to allow the installation of unknown sources. Here’s how to do that.

From the Kodi home screen, click the little gear icon in the top-left to open the Kodi Settings

Click on System settings

Scroll down on the left until you have highlighted Add-ons. Then go over to the right and turn ON the option Unknown Sources

Confirm that you want to turn this on by clicking Yes when prompted.

Now Kodi is able to install community builds and other unofficial software.  Be sure that you are only installing the software you trust.  Streamline Build is safe to install, but be sure when installing other apps.  It’s a good idea to turn this setting off when you are not using it to prevent the unintentional installation of bad apps.

How to Install Streamline Build

Now let’s get down to installing the actual build on Kodi.  This is very easy but follow the instructions carefully to avoid problems.

Click the Settings gear on the Kodi home screen

Click File manager

Click Add source

Click where it says <None> and you will see a window where you can type a URL

Type in the URL for the repo you will be using to install Streamline Build. Type this exactly as shown here:  Then click OK

You can choose to give this repo a name by clicking below where it says wizard and changing it.  For this tutorial, I’m going to leave it at wizard.  Be sure your window looks like the illustration below and click OK

Now, go back to the Kodi home screen and scroll down on the left side and click on Add-ons

At the top left of the screen, you will see a little box symbol.  This is the add-on installer.  Click on it.

Scroll down and click on Install from zip file

In the box that pops up, you will want to choose where you want to install the zip file from.  Click on the source that you added in the previous steps.  In this case, it’s called wizard.

You will see there is only one zip file at this source.  It’s called something like Click on it.

In a minute or so, you will see a message at the top right that the Whiz Kid Wizard has been installed.

The Whiz Kid Wizard will run automatically right after it is installed.  You will be presented with an info screen as shown below. Click Dismiss.

The Whiz Kid Wizard will begin. Since this is a fresh install of this build, I will leave everything at the defaults. Click Continue.

You will see a popup that shows you that there is no build installed.  You will want to choose Build Menu to go to the builds.

Scroll down and click on Streamline from the 18.0 section of the Build Menu.

You will be taken to the Streamline Build install screen.  Scroll down and click on (Whiz Kid) Fresh Install.
Note: There is also a Standard Install option, but I don’t recommend doing this.  It’s always better to do a Fresh Install when installing a new build.

You will be asked if you are sure you want to wipe everything and install Streamline.  Click Continue.

Streamline Build will download and install

When Streamline Build is finished installing, it will automatically force close Kodi.  Open Kodi again and you will see a different splash screen showing that it is now running the Streamline Build.

Then, Streamline Build will go through some updates and preparation before it is ready to use.

The home screen for Streamline is very simple.  The skin that is used is the Aeon Nox with the Silvo mod, so most people will be able to get up and running immediately.

Streamline Build Overview

Once Streamline Build has completely initialized, you will see Streamline Build home screen.

While Streamline Build is, as the name suggests, as streamlined build, it contains many of the popular add-ons for Kodi without taking up too much space.  Some of the add-ons that are included are as follows:

With all those add-ons and more, you will not have any problem finding the streaming media you crave.

Streamline Build worked great on all the devices I tested it with. It is small enough to fit comfortably on your Amazon Fire Stick but powerful enough to take over your entire home entertainment setup with all the most popular add-ons.

Not only is the interface very modern, but the selection of add-ons that are included is also comprehensive.  With all the most popular add-ons built right in, you won’t have to install any additional add-ons to get what you want.
