If you haven’t already been using Stremio to stream all your favorite content, then you are missing out. Stremio is the hottest streaming app available and for my purposes, Stremio replaces Kodi on some of my devices. Stremio is extendable and expandable with the use of add-ons that are installed from within the application itself. While being pretty complete in terms of the add-ons that are available by default, you have been pretty much stuck with the ones they offer.
But now there is PimpMyStremio. PimpMyStremio is a local server that hosts 27 additional add-ons that are not available in the Stremio’s catalog of add-ons. PimpMyStremio isn’t going to interest those of you that run Stremio on your Amazon Fire TV or other Android devices because PimpMyStremio is for the desktop and will only run on Windows, Linux, and macOS.
In most cases, you don’t even need to have Stremio installed on your computer since most of the add-ons will hook right into the Web version of Stremio and you’ll be on your way. To use PimpMyStremio, just download the appropriate version for your OS and run the executable. It’s very simple and I’m going to show you how to do it.

A VPN is an essential tool when you are using any free or low-cost streaming application or service. Especially if you are using a jailbroken Fire TV or Fire Stick or Android box. ALWAYS use a VPN if you want the best streaming experience, the best selection of media and don't want your ISP to slow you down or shut you down. I recommend IPVanish VPN for all my clients and I use it on all my devices.

How to Install and Run PimpMyStremio
The first step to get set up with PimpMyStremio is to download the appropriate version for your operating system. Just click on this link to be taken to the main download page for PimpMyStremio. http://bit.ly/2x9AIX9 On the download page for the application, you will want to scroll down until you see the download links and click on the one that applies to you.
Find the file you just downloaded and unzip it. Depending on your operating system, you will see a different file. For example, Windows users will see a PimpMyStremio.exe, Linux users will see a file that is just called PimpMyStremio and Mac users will have a folder with a PimpMyStremio executable in it. Whichever you are using, the first time you run the file you unzipped, a Web browser will open and PimpMyStremio will make sure it is updated to the latest version.
Then you will see the main screen of PimpMyStremio. There are different categories of available add-ons are listed.
Also, there will be a tray icon that will appear in your system tray. The icon looks like this. If you close the web browser with the PimpMyStremio controls, you can always click on the tray icon to open it back up. The tray icon will also come in handy later and I will show you that.
In the Web browser that has the PimpMyStremio, let’s just click to expand the Movies category and see what is available to us.
You will see that there are several add-ons available in the Movies category. For the purposes of this tutorial let’s focus on the Open Directory add-on. Notice the little download icon next to the add-on. Click this to start downloading the add-on.
Once the add-on has been downloaded, you will see that the icons change. Now there is a settings icon and a PLAY icon. Until you click the PLAY icon, the add-on is just downloaded but not activated. Click the PLAY button to activate the plugin so that it will be available in Stremio.
Once the PLAY button has been clicked, the icon will change to a PAUSE button to indicate that the add-on is active.
Now that you have an add-on downloaded and activated, it’s time to push that add-on into Stremio. There are two ways to do this. If you are still at the PimpMyStremio add-ons screen, just go up to the top and click on the icon highlighted in RED below.
You will be asked what you want to do in the dialog box that pops up.
You have three choices, if you have Stremio installed on your computer, you can load the add-on into the installed Stremio app. If you don’t, you can just as easily have Stremio open on the Web. Let’s do that. Click on LOAD IN STREMIO WEB. Stremio will load up in your Web browser and you will see the add-on that we activated in the previous steps.
Click on the Install button just like you would any other add-on and it will install.
From that point on, the add-on will work just as if it were installed locally. Keep in mind that you MUST have PimpMyStremio running in the background for the add-on to function correctly. You will know that it is running when you see the tray icon. Which brings me to the functionality of the tray icon. If you right-click the tray icon, you can get access to all the features of PimpMyStremio without having to open it up. If you already have add-ons installed and activated, just a simple right-click of the tray icon gives you the ability to use the add-ons. I couldn’t get a screenshot to show you, but you will see when you right-click it.
PimpMyStremio is a cool app that gives you access to some very desirable add-ons that aren’t available by default in Stremio. While PimpMyStremio is not available for Android, a developer by the name of sleeyax has written a guide where he uses Termux to run PimpMyStremio on Android. https://gist.github.com/sleeyax/e9635eb352a4fcdf94194f763d743689
