Give the Gift of Streaming TV with Amazon’s Fire TV Devices

Everyone will be gifting and receiving Amazon products this year more than ever.  Amazon Fire TV devices such as the Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Cube will be at the top of the list.  Fire TV devices will be under every tree and the Fire TV Stick makes the perfect stocking stuffer.  But is it perfect?  Even though you have gifted or received any of these awesome streaming TV devices, you still need to pay a subscription to watch almost all the content on your Fire TV device.  So, if you don’t want to get an Amazon Prime subscription, you end up with a little plastic stick that’s too small to even be a paperweight.

Don’t get caught in this conundrum.  Give the gift that keeps on giving.  By following a few simple steps you can give your loved ones a Fire TV device with a few tricks up its sleeve.  Or, if you receive one as a gift, you can juice it up so you can get all the content you could ever imagine.  On-demand and FREE!  Your gift will be received with excitement when they find out you not only got them a gift, but it’s a gift they can start using right away.  No subscriptions, no money out of pocket.  Just plug and play.  Here’s how to do it.

Which Fire TV Device Should I Buy?

For the most part, my articles focus on the Fire TV Stick.  Only because it’s the lowest-cost streaming TV device on the market.  Currently, I recommend the Fire TV Stick 4K.  The new Fire TV Stick 4K incorporates a TV power button and volume control into the Fire TV Remote which is a real game changer.  You won’t go wrong giving any Fire TV device.  Here is a list of my recommendations with direct links to Amazon so you can get started right away.

The first thing you should do is to unbox the Fire TV, Fire TV Stick or other Fire TV device.  Do it carefully so you can package it back up and get it wrapped when you are finished with this process.  Or, if it’s your own device, rip that box up, plug it in and get it fired up!

While you are giving gifts, be sure to include a subscription to a VPN as part of giving your friends and family peace of mind that they can watch movies and TV shows without the risk of someone spying on them.  And if you are the recipient, be sure that you ALWAYS use a VPN when connected to the Internet either with a computer or a streaming TV device.  The risks are real and a VPN is cheap.  Sign up for IPVanish VPN today and get an amazing 57% discountYou can connect up to 10 devices with one account, so you and your friends and family can safeguard all their devices from bad actors on the Internet.  You can even share an account!

Installing the Jailbreak App Vault

The very first thing you will want to do is to install the Jailbreak App Vault.  The App Vault is a place where I keep my favorite streaming apps and utilities and I provide access to this collection via the FileLinked App.  If you have followed my guides in the past, you know that every app for every article I write is available in the App Vault.  Follow my tutorial here to get the app vault up and running quickly. How to Install the Jailbreak App Vault.  Once you have that installed and configured, you are really in business.

Installing the Streaming Apps

In the past, Kodi was the main application used to get streaming content from the Internet.  Since that time, more and more standalone streaming android apps have emerged that offer greater ease-of-use and reliability. I constantly test different apps to determine which are the best and easiest to use and I have settled on two apps that meet all the needs of most people.  With a couple honorable mentions.

Stremio is about as slick of an app as you can get.  I believe that Stremio has the best interface of any streaming app out there.  I was a huge fan of Terrarium TV as well, but I still think Stremio has a better interface than Terrarium.  Stremio serves up every movie and TV series you can think of and does it with reliable streams.  Stremio also has robust subtitle support in hundreds of languages.  There is even an option for Spanish language dubbing for most of the titles available.  That makes Stremio a VERY strong program in my mind.  Other apps like Titanium TV (the new Terrarium TV), Morpheus and Popcorn Time to name a few, are also contenders, and you should keep those apps in mind in case something ever happens to Stremio.  To learn more about Stremio and how to install it, check out my article Install Stremio on Jailbroken Amazon Fire TV Stick.

Mobdro + Blokada

By installing Stremio, you have unlocked access to every movie and TV show ever made.  That should make you or your gift recipients happy.  But what about live TV?  That’s where Mobdro comes in.  Mobdro is the very best live TV application available today.  Mobdro offers hundreds of channels of live TV from all over the world.  The channels are predominately in English, but there are also channels in Spanish, German, Italian and more.  The only drawback to Mobdro is that it has some pretty intrusive ads.  But my guide will show you how to overcome that.  Follow my tutorial Official Mobdro + Blokada = Mobdro Ad-Free for all the details.

There are hundreds of apps out there and it can be hard to determine which ones are good and which ones are junk. Luckily I have done the hard work for you, so you only have to look in the Jailbreak App Store to find them.  You can’t imagine how many apps are worthless for Fire TV devices in particular.  There are some apps that are not compatible with a remote control as they are written for phones or tablets.  All of the apps I recommend are always compatible and always reliable.  So, follow my simple guides to trick out your Fire TV Device gifts and give the gifts that really keep on giving this year.  Check my site often for new articles and new apps.  And before you go, be sure to get your IPVanish account all set up so you can stream in peace.  Click here to get an exclusive 57% discount on IPVanish VPN Service.  It’s simply the best!
