Amazon Fire TV Cube – Jailbreaking and Review
Amazon is slowly taking over the world. Actually, they are doing it pretty rapidly. Their latest offering proves that point. Amazon is the top player in the streaming media market. Despite all the Android streaming boxes out there, the Fire series of devices continue to dominate the landscape. The Amazon Fire Stick is still unbelievably popular. Amazon quickly realized this and the Stick was shortly followed by the Amazon Fire TV device, one of the best streaming devices available. Alexa has already been a mainstay in the connected world, providing a super tight human-device interface for the everyday person. Now Amazon is set to take over your entire home with the introduction of the all-new Amazon Fire TV Cube.
The Amazon Fire TV Cube is not just an upgrade to the Fire TV series of devices. While it does offer the same functionality that we have all become accustomed to on the Fire devices, it brings a whole new level of features to the connected home. While this seems like a natural progression for Amazon, it is a giant leap forward in how you will interact with your home. The all-new Amazon Fire TV Cube is a combination of all the other Amazon devices with the addition of some brand new features as well.
Obviously, the Fire TV Cube features all the same streaming media capability as the Fire TV 4k device. Displaying super high-quality 4K video content with ease. The Fire TV Cube can still be jailbroken using the current methods we use for the other Fire TV devices. Use our tutorial How to Jailbreak Amazon Fire Stick and Fire TV Stick 2018 to learn how. You can still install and use Terrarium TV, Kodi, Mobdro, Exodus, Placenta, No Limits Build, or a combination of these applications as recommended in our Ultimate Fire Stick Streaming Setup 2018.
Amazon Echo and Echo Dot
The Fire TV Cube is basically a combination of the Echo Dot and Fire TV. It has the same easy-to-use interface as Amazon’s other streaming devices, but it has been streamlined a little to emphasize voice control. Also, the microphone layout on the Cube is different than on the Echo. On the Echo, the far-field microphones are arranged in a circular, 360-degree pattern. On the Cube, all eight of the microphones are arranged linearly along the front to be particularly sensitive to voices in front of the device. The microphone array is designed to recognize the “Alexa” activation word even when the device is playing audio on the TV or any other connected device. The Amazon Fire TV Cube also provides the functionality of the Amazon Echo device. You can talk to it using natural language, and Amazon’s unbeatable personal assistant, Alexa, will help you out. All you have to do is tell the Amazon TV Cube what you want to watch or hear, and Alexa will serve it up to your eyes or ears. Not only can you control your home theater experience using the Amazon Fire TV Cube, but you can control a whole range of connected devices using Amazon’s newest and most disruptive feature to date.
Always use a VPN when streaming media online
Your IP is: 188.8.131.52 - Secure Your Connection
Stop your ISP and your government from spying on your activity. Use a VPN to protect your privacy. A VPN is an essential tool when you are using any free or low-cost streaming application or service. Especially if you are using a jailbroken Fire TV or Fire Stick or Android box. ALWAYS use a VPN if you want the best streaming experience, the best selection of media and don't want your ISP to slow you down or shut you down. I recommend IPVanish VPN for all my clients and I use it on all my devices.

Universal Remote Control
This is quite possibly the best feature ever introduced on a device to date. Each of the 4 sides of the Amazon Fire TV Cube is outfitted with IR Blasters. This allows you to interact with your existing connected home equipment as well as your existing home theater hardware. It all makes sense considering that the manufacturers of TVs and other home theater equipment have been slow to integrate Amazon’s Fire TV or Alexa features into their hardware. Amazon basically side-stepped this need by integrating with everything else. And the overall experience is great. The Amazon Fire TV Cube can send commands to any other device that uses an IR remote, and an additional IR Blaster range extender is included in the box to reach those components you have hidden away. What this means for you is that you can ask Alexa for something, and if Alexa decides that the best place to get the answer is on your TV, then it turns on the TV and any other components needed to give you what you ask for. Word has it that the Fire TV Cube is “TV Biased”, meaning that it doesn’t hesitate to turn on your display if it thinks that is the best way to serve the content. This holds true as well when you ask for music or other audio. If you have a sound system or sound bar installed, Alexa will use that to play the audio instead of its built-in speaker.
Amazon has really gone all out with their latest offering. If you already use a lot of other Amazon devices, then you might not see a real benefit to upgrading to the Fire Cube, as it has much of the same functionality that you might already have. But if you are just entering into the Amazon-connected world, this is a strong contender for the devices you MUST have. Introducing this device into your existing home theater and connected home will certainly go a long way as far as providing a truly integrated experience. And you can still jailbreak the Amazon Fire TV Cube just like any of Amazon’s other devices. That is a very strong feature.
