How to Install TeaTV – Now Compatible with Fire TV Remote – Installation and Overview

TeaTV has always offered an excellent experience on Android devices, but those of us that use Jailbroken Fire TV devices have not been able to use it because it was not designed for use with the Fire TV Remote Control.  There have been workarounds such as using Mouse Toggle, but that experience is sorely lacking the basic functionality that makes it worth installing TeaTV.

Terrarium TV, and more recently Stremio already offer a super high-quality streaming experience with a slick and easy-to-use interface, so TeaTV never made my list of top streaming apps.  However, the latest version of TeaTV has been totally reworked to include support for the Fire TV ecosystem, so I felt the need to highlight this outstanding streaming app that has a lot to offer.

Stop your ISP and your government from spying on your activity.  Use a VPN to protect your privacy.  A VPN is an essential tool when you are using any free or low-cost streaming application or service.  Especially if you are using a jailbroken Fire TV or Fire Stick or Android box.  ALWAYS use a VPN if you want the best streaming experience, the best selection of media and don't want your ISP to slow you down or shut you down.  I recommend IPVanish VPN for all my clients and I use it on all my devices.

TeaTV is available for download and installation from the KodiAmerica.com Jailbreak App Vault.  This app makes it easy for you to get the latest apps without the hassle of having to search all over the Internet for them.  I’ve already done that for you.  If you don’t have the App Vault installed, just follow my tutorial How to Install the Kodiamerica.com Jailbreak App Vault to get started.

Installing TeaTV

Click on the icon for the KodiAmerica.com Jailbreak App Vault.  It will be in your apps and the icon looks like this.

If you have already been using the Jailbreak App Vault, then my code will already be entered into the code field.  Check to be sure it is correct, and if it isn’t, then enter the code 47356537

Once you are sure the code is correct, press CONTINUE to enter the KodiAmerica.com Jailbreak App Vault.

You will see TeaTV on the list. Click on the download icon and TeaTV will begin downloading.

You can see the download progress.

When the download has completed, the download icon changes to an install icon.  Click on the install icon to begin installing TeaTV.

You will be shown the list of permissions that TeaTV requires.  Scroll down until you see the option to install and click Install

TeaTV will begin installing

When TeaTV is finished installing, select Done and click on it.

You will be back at the Jailbreak App Vault apps list screen again.  Press the back button on your Fire TV remote to exit out of the app list screen.  You will be asked if you want to leave.  Click Yes

Now, back at the Jailbreak App Vault code screen, use your Fire TV remote to move up to the top of the screen and click on the little trash can icon up at the top right.

You will be asked if you want to empty the trash.  Click Yes

Then click the back button again to completely exit the KodiAmerica.com Jailbreak App Vault.  Press the home button on your remote to go back to the home screen of your Amazon Fire TV device.  Then long-press the home button again like you did before and choose apps.  Let’s go back to the apps screen and look for TeaTV.  It will most likely be at the bottom of the list because you installed it last.

Let’s move it up to the top.  While the TeaTV icon is selected, long press the SELECT button on your remote.  It’s the big button in the center. You will see a message come up on the screen that tells you to press SELECT again to drop the icon where you want it.

Move the icon up to the top and then press SELECT to drop it there.

Now, if you go back to the Home screen on your Amazon Fire TV device, you will see TeaTV in the front of the list under YOUR APPS & CHANNELS

Go ahead and click on the icon for TeaTV and let’s take a quick look at the layout and a couple of settings I recommend. You will see the TeaTV splash screen for a few seconds.

You will be asked to agree to the terms and conditions of TeaTV.  Scroll to the very bottom of this screen and select Accept.

You will then be asked to choose which subtitle language you want to use by default.  You can change this in the settings at any time as well.

You will then be taken to the main screen of TeaTV.

Let’s change a couple of settings to give you a better streaming experience.  Navigate up to the menu at the top left that looks like three lines and click on it.  A menu will open up.

Scroll to the bottom of this menu until you see Settings and click on it.

There are many settings you can modify here.  Most of the settings are good right out of the box, but I like to change a couple of things.  I don’t want to see streams that are not HD, so I always check the box to show only the HD streams.

There is also a setting to disable safe mode and show adult content.  I haven’t figured out what this actually does, because there isn’t really any adult content here.  But I turn safe mode off just in case. LOL

Once you get all your settings all straightened out, now you will want to watch a movie or TV show.  Select what you want to watch and the description will open.  You can see the entire cast as well as a synopsis of the movie or TV show.  Click on the Play icon to start searching for streams.

The stream selection screen for TeaTV is very similar to the stream selection for Terrarium TV if you are familiar with that.  If you chose to show only HD streams, then only the HD streams will show in this list.  At this point, simply choose the quality of the stream you want to watch and click on it to start streaming it.

TeaTV has grown into a strong contender for streaming all kinds of media.  There is even a live TV section you can explore, although I didn’t have much luck getting many of those streams to watch.  Luckily Mobdro has your live TV streaming covered.

As always, you should have your VPN turned on and connected before using TeaTV or any other streaming media application.  If you don’t yet have a VPN, I have negotiated a limited-time offer of 57% off of IPVanish VPN service for my KodiAmerica.com readers.  Click here to take advantage of this awesome offer.
