Openload Stream Authorization Fix 2019

As many of you are aware, when using Kodi Add-ons such as Placenta, Rising Tides, Exodus or any of Exodus derivatives, you are often bombarded with Openload stream authorization messages.  This an annoying message, and, if you are not using a VPN, authorizing the stream exposes your IP address to OpenLoad.  Personally, I don’t want to tell them my IP, so I struggled with a way to disable openload stream authorization.

Your IP is: Your Connection

Stop your ISP and your government from spying on your activity.  Use a VPN to protect your privacy.  A VPN is an essential tool when you are using any free or low-cost streaming application or service.  Especially if you are using a jailbroken Fire TV or Fire Stick or Android box.  ALWAYS use a VPN if you want the best streaming experience, the best selection of media and don't want your ISP to slow you down or shut you down.  I recommend IPVanish VPN for all my clients and I use it on all my devices.

I wrote an article a while back about this very subject and it quickly became my top article and remains my top article.  So I thought I would revisit this issue with a couple of updated steps.

Openload is a video source that offers high-quality streams with the caveat that you authorize your IP to use it.  The authorization only lasts for 4 hours, after which you must reauthorize your IP.  The reason they do this is to prevent bots and crawlers from seeing the streams they have available.  And if you want to use Openload, you must authorize yourself.

Here is how to remove openload stream authorization on Kodi.

Open up Kodi on your device

From the Kodi home screen, click on Add-ons

Click on Settings gear icon located at the top left of the screen.

At the bottom left of your screen, click the settings level until it reads Expert.

Click the Add-ons menu on the left-hand side of the screen option and then choose Manage Dependencies on the right

Scroll down until you see ResolveURL and click on it.

Click on Configure

In this example, Openload is located under Resolvers 3.  Openload used to be in Resolvers 4, but it has moved because other resolvers have been added and pushed it up. Select Resolvers 3 and then scroll down on the right until you see openload.  Toggle the little switch OFF where it says Enabled. Repeat this for the Automatically Update Resolver option.  Both of those settings should be turned OFF

Click Ok to save settings

Now, go back to whatever streaming app you are using that is bugging you to authorize Openload.  In this example, I am using the Placenta Kodi Add-On which is a fork of Exodus.  In Placenta, you will want to select the menu item Tools.

You are going to clear the cache and the providers.

Now back to the Tools screen, click on Playback Settings

Turn off Hosters with captchas

Change addon playback settings

Click OK and you are all set

There are also other resolvers that you may encounter which require stream authorization.  This same method can be used to disable any of the resolvers that keep bugging you.

Now that you have learned how to Remove Openload Stream Authorization on Kodi.  You should be sure to secure your connection with a VPN to keep your ISP from slowing you down, spying on you or blocking you.  IPVanish is the #1 VPN in the world.  I recommend IPVanish to all my users and I use it myself.
